Since my last entry I celebrated my younger brother's 21st birthday, celebrated my 8 year old & 17 year old cousin's birthday, got a sinus infection, and ate copious amounts of Mexican food <3.
I wish I could say I played my Wii and finally figured out how to play the Batman game, but I only kicked butt in Mario Kart a few times with my brother. I'm so out of touch with video games, if only they kept it as simple as Super Nintendo I'd be golden! (It's been THAT long since I've played video games).
I was having a conversation with a co-worker the other day and they saw some family photos on my computer because Facebook was open. Her response was, "I think it's great that you and your aunt have avoided the blue eye liner! What the heck brought that on anyways?" My grandmother resembled Elizabeth Taylor and when she finally realized it she actually punctuated her name to J. Elizabeth and became 'Liz'. It was also during the time when Cleopatra came out and she had her blue liner/eye make-up, which lead all of my great aunts to wearing blue eyeliner on their olivey complexion (w/ black hair/eyes, it didn't draw attention at all). Not too long after the stop sign red lipstick came along, but that's another story. My response to my coworker, other than the Cleopatra explanation, also consisted of, "If I did wear the blue eyeliner, would you refer to me as 'the lady with the blue eyeliner' or 'Rachel' ?"
"Actually, I refer to you as the lady with the eyeliner! I pay attention to whether it's the green, violet, or thick liquid everyday!" ::palm face::
In other news, I purchased the latest M. Ward, Bob Dylan, and Peter Bjorn and John albums. Pretty good, but I'm still on the fence with Mr. Dylan. Since I've been receiving Rolling Stone (I'm still scouring my bank statements because that's not a magazine I'd buy a subscription to) I intend to read their article since he's on the cover this month.
Upcoming stuff: registering for summer classes! I will be brushing up on my Spanish and working towards my teaching stuff... This also allows me to save lots of money for L-M Ferla's visit in September!
That and to hear, "YOU CAN'T ROLL YOUR TONGUE?!" and me saying, "70% of all native Spanish speakers can't roll their tongue, FYI. We learn how to fake it!"
