"ah, oui?! qu'est-ce que tu pense?"

That was the reaction to me saying, "j'ai regardé Benjamin Button heir soir..." Saturday evening we watched the film and well, it was nice. I was impressed with some scenes and others not so much. I guess seeing it post-hype had played a role in me saying, "good, but I won't need to watch this ever again." I felt bad letting my friend down, considering we're film nerds together and the only move I saw pre-Oscar season was Slumdog Millionaire (I highly enjoyed that one).

... and then followed, "et Bob Dylan, tu pense quoi?" well, still haven't decided how I feel about that album. sigh.

As much as I enjoy spring as a season, I'm really happy it's coming to a close and we're getting closer to summer. I'll be cooped up in a library corner, writing papers and trying to re-learn the advanced stages of my childhood language. I might even start to cry because I can't roll my tongue. I just hope that it won't be like that moment my arabic instructor found out I couldn't roll my tongue, "WHAT YOU CAN'T ROLL THE TONGUE? I write you a letter that explains your speech impeeed-uh-ment, that way, when you do oral exam no one grades you bad." The best one was, "You know, Moses had speech problem just like Rachel," and she points to me. Oy. But yes, I look forward to a summer of work because I'll save more funds for the arrival of my favourite Scottish lady, L-M Ferla.

On another note, I hope every one had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday. I know that I did, I spent it with my great grandmother (posted a nice twitpic of that, http://twitpic.com/4y41f) and then caught up on LOST with mi madre.
My family isn't big on holidays, which you wouldn't expect for someone who is a nice mélange of Spaniard/Jewish/German/Christian peeps. The Spanish stuff died down since my parents divorced, but I still participate a good deal because it's how I grew up; whereas, religion is always a hot topic. mmhmm.
